It’s an honor to be part of the journey of your kids growing up. Over the years, we see their interests change – from Roblox to a college search, right up to the bittersweet moment when it’s time for them to graduate. The long-term relationship and investment in them is so gratifying to us.
Innovative technology
One of our favorite examples of this is The Wand Anesthetic Medicine. To alleviate your child’s fear or anxiety, we use a computerized anesthetic dispensing machine called “The Wand.” Shaped like a pen, The Wand automatically adjusts for your child, and the anesthetic is delivered at a constant pressure and volume so the injection is hardly felt.

Your Child’s First Visit

Preparing for the Dental Visit
The best way to prepare for your child’s first dental visit is to consider anything you need from us – we’d be happy to answer any question you may have. For the little ones, feel free to bring along a favorite toy, blanket or other familiar object to help give your child a little extra peace of mind.

Oral examination
Your child’s first visit will include an oral examination and a toothbrush demonstration. Dr. Toni will examine their mouth, with special consideration for what’s most comfortable for you and your child.

Teeth Cleaning & Fluoride
We may also clean your child’s teeth, making sure to be gentle and supportive every step of the way. If your child has a higher risk of developing cavities, our doctor or dental assistant may also apply a topical fluoride preparation to aid in cavity prevention.

Behavioral Guidance
We invite parents to stay with their children during the initial examination, as well as any future visits. We look at this as a team approach in overcoming apprehension, gaining your child’s confidence, and providing the safest environment.
Meet Dr. Toni
Dr. Toni Chen is a native to the San Gabriel Valley. After graduating from Arcadia High School, she completed her undergraduate work at UCLA with a degree in biology, then pursued her dental education at the USC. Her love for working with children led her to two additional years of pediatric specialty training at the highly regarded Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC).
